<p>The China Western Mathematical Invitational (CWMI) is an international invitational mathematics olympiad hosted annually in China, to which the Singapore Mathematical Society sends a national team selected by the SIMO Committee. The contest exposes Singapore students to international olympiad-level mathematics and to top competitors from across Asia.</p><ul><li>Invitation only — selection by SIMO from top SMO Open and Senior Round performers.</li><li>Eligibility: under 20 and not yet enrolled at a tertiary institution.</li><li>Problems cover olympiad algebra, combinatorics, geometry, and number theory.</li><li>Typically a week-long programme combining contest days with cultural / knowledge-exchange activities.</li><li>Travel, accommodation, and registration are fully covered for the Singapore delegation.</li><li>Singapore has participated regularly; the 21st CWMI in 2024 was held in Shanghai.</li></ul>
