<p>The Euclid Contest is a 2.5-hour senior mathematics contest from the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo, written annually by over 25,000 students worldwide. Results are considered in University of Waterloo scholarship decisions, and participation is not required for admission to its Faculty of Mathematics.</p> <ul> <li>Target audience: students in their final year of secondary school (JC2 equivalent); motivated younger students may also sit it.</li> <li>Format: 10 questions – a mix of short-answer and full-solution – scored out of 100.</li> <li>Written annually in April, at school: CEMC says students cannot register individually, and a student whose school is not taking part can look for another local school that will let them join.</li> <li>Awards: Certificate of Distinction for the top 25%; school champion medallions; Canadian top-5 receive cash prizes.</li> <li>CEMC fee is CAD $18 per participant plus processing and international shipping.</li> </ul> <p>Registration is handled by the contest supervisor at the participant's school through the CEMC portal.</p>
