About this opportunity
A nationwide citizen science survey where volunteers count garden birds at an assigned site so NParks can track bird populations and plan park management and conservation. You learn basic survey and birdwatching techniques and how to identify 34 native and migratory species, then spend up to two hours on one morning recording what you see and submit the results online.
Who can apply
Open to all volunteers who complete the online training; new volunteers must also attend a practical workshop. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Groups of up to 5 can register together.
How to apply
Register through the sign-up link on the NParks BiodiversitySG page using a Volunteer.gov.sg account, indicating your preferred survey location and training slot. New volunteers attend a practical workshop at the Singapore Botanic Gardens on 17 or 18 October 2026 before the survey.
