<p>The A*STAR Science Award (Junior College) is a two-year student award recognising Singaporean JC 1 / IP Year 5 students with outstanding aptitude in science and mathematics. Awardees gain first-hand exposure to scientific research through a 5-week attachment at an A*STAR research institute.</p><ul><li>Eligibility: Singapore citizens in JC 1 (or IP Year 5) with outstanding academic performance in science and mathematics; school nomination required.</li><li>Award: S$1,000 per year, tenable for two years (JC 1 and JC 2). Carries no bond.</li><li>Research attachment: 5-week placement at an A*STAR research institute during the JC 1 year-end holidays, working alongside A*STAR scientists.</li><li>Awardees are invited to A*STAR seminars, outreach events, and scientist talks throughout the award tenure.</li><li>Continuation into JC 2 is subject to strong JC 1 promotional exam results and continued interest in science.</li></ul><p>Applications are invited annually through schools only — interested students should approach their school teacher for nomination.</p>
