About this opportunity

<p>The A*STAR Science Award (Junior College) is a two-year award for JC1 Singapore citizens with outstanding aptitude and passion for science and mathematics. Awardees receive an annual stipend and a structured research attachment at an A*STAR research institute, working alongside active scientists and engineers.</p> <ul> <li>Eligibility: Singapore citizens in JC1 (or IP Year 5 equivalent); school nomination is required.</li> <li>Tenure: up to 2 years (JC1 and JC2); continuation to JC2 depends on academic performance in the JC1 promotional exams.</li> <li>Allowance: S$1,000 per year, with no bond attached.</li> <li>Mandatory 5-week research attachment during the JC1 year-end holidays at an A*STAR research institute.</li> <li>Additional invitations to A*STAR seminars, talks and outreach events.</li> </ul> <p>Applications are open only through school nominations; interested students should speak to their school's talent development team or science teachers.</p>
