About this opportunity

<p>The Singapore Chemistry Olympiad (SChO) is a national theory-only chemistry competition for JC1 students (Year 5 equivalent). Launched in 1989, it is jointly organised by the Singapore National Institute of Chemistry (SNIC), the NUS Chemistry Department and the Ministry of Education, with its syllabus aligned to the International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).</p><ul><li>Open to JC1 or equivalent students via school nomination.</li><li>Theory-only paper covering general, inorganic, organic and physical chemistry.</li><li>Awards include Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, plus Best Student and Best Team prizes.</li><li>Top performers are shortlisted (around 25 students) for IChO training, from which the final four-member Singapore team is selected.</li></ul><p>Registration is coordinated through participants' schools. The competition is typically held in November each year.</p>
