About this opportunity

<p>The Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors' Award (TKKYIA) is an annual national invention competition organised by the Tan Kah Kee Foundation with support from the Ministry of Education and Science Centre Singapore. Established in 1986 at the suggestion of Nobel Laureate in Physics Prof Yang Chen Ning, it recognises original inventions that apply scientific principles to real-world problems.</p><ul><li>Four categories by education level: Junior Student (Primary), Student (Secondary), Senior Student (JC, Polytechnic, ITE — under 25), and Open (university students and public under 36).</li><li>Full-time students may enter as individuals or teams of up to 3; the Open Category allows teams of up to 5.</li><li>2025/2026 cycle: registration 1 December 2025 to 31 March 2026; shortlisting 8-25 May; shortlisting results 12-15 June; interviews on 18 and 25 July and 1 August; notice to recipients 18-20 August; exhibition and award ceremony on 19 September at the Science Centre Singapore.</li><li>Cash prizes are awarded to Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents only; non-SC/PR participants remain eligible for certificates and recognition.</li><li>Entry is free.</li></ul><p>Register and submit inventions via the TKKYIA awards platform at tkkyia.awardsplatform.com.</p>
