<p>An annual mathematics essay competition organised by the Singapore Mathematical Society. Students write on a set annual theme; the 2026 theme is "Order Theory in the Age of Data, AI, and Computing". Selected winning entries are published in Mathematical Medley.</p><ul><li>Open to secondary, JC, IP school, polytechnic, and international-school students in Singapore.</li><li>Individual entries or teams of up to 3 members from the same school; each school may submit up to 10 entries per category.</li><li>Essays must be 1,000–1,500 words in English plus an abstract of at most 100 words.</li><li>Online registration 11 March 2026 – 10 July 2026; payment and submission 29 June – 10 July 2026.</li><li>Category prizes: First S$200, Second S$150, Third S$100 cash, with certificates of participation for all entrants.</li></ul><p>Registration is S$10 per essay entry via the SMS website. Shortlisted authors may be called for an interview to clarify and defend the ideas presented in their essay.</p>
