About this opportunity

<p>An annual environmental-film contest run by the One Earth Film Festival for student filmmakers from grade 3 through age 25. Entrants create a short film that highlights an environmental or sustainability problem and proposes a concrete solution; winning films are screened at the festival and published on the festival website.</p><ul><li>Open to students worldwide; seven grade-level categories from Elementary through Post-Graduate, including a dedicated Animation/Stop-Motion category and the Sally Stovall Prize for Creativity</li><li>Individual or group entries accepted; films 3–8 minutes long (animations from 45 seconds)</li><li>Grade 11 and below films must frame a problem-plus-solution on a listed topic (climate, energy, food, transportation, waste, water, wildlife/ecosystems); grade 12 and above have free rein on topic</li><li>Submission deadline: 11:59pm CDT on 25 June 2026; no submission fee</li><li>Cash prizes and scholarships scale by category, from USD 100 (Elementary) up to USD 1,000 (Senior Year/University/Post-Graduate) — plus an equal-value matching grant donated to a non-profit or sustainability project chosen by each winner</li><li>Winners premiere on 27 September 2026 and are screened at the main One Earth Film Festival in April 2027</li></ul><p>Submissions are uploaded via Film Freeway from the contest details page; group entries should first contact lisa@oneearthfilmfest.org for the shared oath/permission form.</p>
