About this opportunity

<p>An annual physics competition for secondary-school students in Singapore, organised by the Institute of Physics Singapore. Students sit a General Round of 50 multiple-choice questions over 2 hours; high scorers are invited to the Special Round, which consists of 3 written problems over 3 hours and requires rigorous mathematical derivation. SJPO acts as a feeder pathway toward the Singapore Physics Olympiad (SPhO) and eventual IPhO selection.</p><ul><li>For secondary-school students; school nomination only (no individual applications)</li><li>General Round: 50 MCQ, 2 hours, no negative marking; non-programmable scientific calculators only</li><li>Special Round (by invitation): 3 written problems, 3 hours</li><li>Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, and Honorable Mentions, are awarded</li><li>Pathway: SJPO → SPhO → APhO / IPhO national team selection</li></ul><p>Registration is through schools. Approach your school's physics teacher-in-charge for nomination; syllabus and sample questions are published on the IPS events page.</p>
