<p>The NUS-MOE Humanities and Social Sciences Research (HSSR) programme is a H3 option jointly offered by the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and MOE's Gifted Education Branch. It lets selected A-Level students pursue an independent research project under a NUS academic supervisor and write an Extended Essay that counts towards their A-Level result.</p><ul><li>Open to A-Level students with outstanding aptitude in Chinese Language and Literature, Economics, Geography, History, Literature in English, or Malay Language and Literature</li><li>Applicants must be taking the corresponding H2 subject in JC1 and continue it in JC2</li><li>Around 120 hours of independent work with a NUS supervisor, spanning roughly January to July of JC2</li><li>Extended Essay is assessed as part of the A-Level examination</li><li>Programme fee is S$60 (balance of the S$648 cost is covered by an MOE grant)</li><li>Completing the programme may grant Advanced Placement Credit towards a FASS degree at NUS</li></ul><p>Apply through your JC during the annual application window that typically opens in August or September.</p>
