About this opportunity

Hacktoberfest is a month-long open-source event that runs throughout October. This year it centres on building with open-source AI and open-weight models: you can join an in-person Fest (one in Singapore is hosted by JuniorDevSG and Zenika), take on a new online DEV mini-hackathon each week, or follow livestreams and Global Hack Week. Beginners are welcome, taking part earns stickers and swag, and challenge winners receive cash prizes.

Who can apply

Open to anyone aged 13 or older, subject to country eligibility rules. Individual Fests may set their own age limits, and under-18s should check parental permission with the host. DEV Challenges have separate eligibility rules.

How to apply

Sign in to My Hacktoberfest with a free MyMLH account, then register on a Fest's own page or join the online challenges and livestreams during October 2026. The participant dashboard opens by 1 October.
