<p>The CCCS-ESS Essay Competition is a joint essay competition run by the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore and the Economic Society of Singapore, inviting students to examine competition, consumer protection, and economic policy issues. Recent editions have covered AI and competition law, and environmental sustainability.</p><ul><li>School Category: post-secondary students in Singapore (JC, CI, polytechnic, international schools, IP Year 5/6), regardless of nationality</li><li>Open Category: all Singapore residents and Singapore citizens abroad not in the school category</li><li>Submissions assessed by a judging panel of CCCS leadership and Economic Society of Singapore members</li><li>Prior editions offered cash prizes across 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and merit tiers in both categories</li><li>Historically co-organised as a recurring competition; the 6th edition ran in 2024 on the theme of competition policy in the age of AI</li></ul><p>Register and submit essays via the ESS or CCCS websites when a new cycle opens for the next edition.</p>
