About this opportunity

<p>Youth Journalism International runs an annual global contest, now in its 17th year, recognising outstanding work by teen journalists, photographers, and artists. The contest is open to any teenager worldwide — including students in Singapore — for work published or broadcast in English during the previous calendar year.</p><ul><li>Dozens of categories including news, sports, feature stories, reviews, travel writing, commentary, photography, cartoons, and illustrations</li><li>Top honours (Student Journalist of the Year, Journalism Educator of the Year, Frank Keegan Award, Jacinta Marie Bunnell Award, Courage in Journalism, First Amendment Award) receive crystal trophies</li><li>Finalists and category winners receive custom award certificates</li><li>Entry fees range from USD 7 per individual entry up to USD 25–35 for special and top-honour categories; hardship fee waivers are available</li><li>Entries judged by a global panel of more than two dozen journalists, teachers, and media experts</li></ul><p>Submissions are made online via the YJI contest entry portal.</p>
