<p>Write the World runs free monthly writing competitions for teen writers aged 13 to 19, spanning genres from poetry and spoken word to flash fiction, screenwriting, memoir, environmental writing and journalism. Each month is framed around a theme and judged by a guest writer or editor.</p> <ul> <li>Open to teenagers aged 13–19 from any country; entry is individual and free.</li> <li>Monthly cycles — a new competition opens each month, with winners announced shortly after the submission window closes.</li> <li>Guest judges include award-winning journalists, novelists, poets laureate and professors.</li> <li>Writers receive peer and expert feedback during the drafting window, with winning pieces published on the Write the World blog.</li> <li>Winners receive cash prizes and recognition from the Write the World community.</li> </ul> <p>Register a free account on Write the World, then select an active monthly competition to submit a piece.</p>
