<p>The Singapore Introductory Mooting Programme (SIMP) is an annual introductory moot competition for upper-secondary, pre-university and Year 1 university students with no prior mooting experience. Founded in 2019, it introduces participants to legal research and advocacy through training workshops and a structured moot competition.</p><ul><li>Open to Upper Secondary, Pre-University and Year 1 University students in Singapore; no prior mooting experience required.</li><li>Participants register in teams of two (school or independent); independent participants unable to find a partner are paired by the organisers.</li><li>Competition format: teams argue for both Appellant and Respondent, with Senior and Junior Counsel pleadings on two grounds of appeal followed by a rebuttal.</li><li>Pre-competition workshops (in-person and virtual) equip participants with case analysis, skeletal-submission drafting, and advocacy skills.</li><li>Awards include Champion, First Runners-Up, Best School Team and Best Individual Mooter, with certificates issued to all participants.</li></ul>
