<p>The RSTMH Student Essay Competition is an annual writing prize from the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene. It is open to current full-time students worldwide and poses a fresh question each year on global health or tropical medicine.</p> <ul> <li>Open to current, full-time students based anywhere in the world; evidence of student status is required at submission.</li> <li>Essays must be 1,500–2,000 words (excluding references), plus a mandatory 150–200 word summary.</li> <li>2026 topic examines how recent cuts to global health funding will transform the field.</li> <li>Prize: £200 and one year of complimentary RSTMH student membership; a certificate is presented at an RSTMH event in 2026.</li> </ul> <p>Submissions open 5 March 2026 and close on 5 June 2026 at 23:00 UTC via the RSTMH online form.</p>
