<p>The Queen's Commonwealth Writing Competition (formerly the Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition) is the world's oldest international schools writing competition, delivered by the Royal Commonwealth Society since 1883. The 2026 edition invites young writers to respond to the theme "Common Ground: Better Together".</p> <ul> <li>Open to Commonwealth nationals or residents aged 18 or under on 30 April 2026.</li> <li>Submit one written piece under 1,000 words in response to one of the published 2026 questions.</li> <li>Entries are judged by writers, academics and past participants from across the Commonwealth.</li> <li>Winners receive certificates of achievement (including Gold, Silver and Bronze awards) and recognition through Royal Commonwealth Society channels.</li> <li>The 2026 entry deadline is 30 April 2026.</li> </ul> <p>Enter via the official QCWC 2026 Entry Form linked on the Royal Commonwealth Society site.</p>
