<p>The International Economics Olympiad (IEO) is the annual global economics and finance competition for high school students, founded in 2018. Over 50 countries send national teams to compete on advanced economics, finance and real-world business reasoning that goes well beyond the A-level syllabus.</p> <ul> <li>Open to students under 20 years old whose high-school graduation falls after 1 December 2025.</li> <li>Each country fields up to five competitors; Singapore is represented by a national team selected through a local qualifying round.</li> <li>Three academic components: Economics & Finance multiple-choice, Economics & Finance open questions, and a team Business Case presented to a jury.</li> <li>The 2026 edition is the 9th and runs 12–20 July 2026.</li> <li>Gold, silver and bronze medals awarded for individual performance; teams receive matching statuettes.</li> </ul> <p>Students participate by winning the Singapore national selection; the official site lists country coordinators and the national pathway.</p>
