<p>The International Economics Olympiad (IEO) is an annual competition testing economics theory, financial literacy, and quantitative data analysis across three graded components. Singapore is represented by up to five students who top the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO). The data analysis round blends economics with statistical reasoning and mathematical modelling, combining economics with applied mathematics.</p><ul><li>Three components: Economics & Finance Multiple-Choice Question test, Open Questions paper, and Business Case presentation in English before a jury.</li><li>Eligibility: under 20 years old on 30 June 2026, and not yet finished high school as of 1 December 2025.</li><li>Singapore entry is earned by placing in the top 5 at the Singapore National Economics Olympiad (SGNEO).</li><li>IEO 2026 runs 12–20 July 2026 as a residential event (venue to be confirmed).</li><li>Travel, accommodation, and registration for the national team are typically covered by MOE or partner schools.</li></ul><p>Students participate by first preparing for and competing in SGNEO during the domestic competition window.</p>
