About this opportunity

HSSRP pairs students with expert mentors from institutions such as NUS, NTU, SMU, SUSS, ISEAS and RSIS for an interest-based research project in the humanities or social sciences. Over the year, students attend research workshops, present to a review panel of subject experts, share their findings at the HSSRP Symposium in October, and strong papers are selected for publication.

Who can apply

Year 3 and Year 4 students in schools offering School-based Gifted Education (SBGE) or the Integrated Programme (IP), with a strong interest and aptitude in the humanities and social sciences.

How to apply

Apply through your school's HSSRP teacher-coordinator. For the 2026 intake, the forms (student application, research proposal, parent consent, school endorsement and teacher recommendation) were posted in October 2025; forms for the next intake are not up yet.
