About this opportunity

<p>The Heartware Tuition Programme provides free weekly tuition to under-served primary school children whose parents are incarcerated or from low-income backgrounds. Volunteers act as tutors and role models, helping tutees keep pace with their peers in school.</p><ul><li>Tutors are drawn from junior colleges, Integrated Programme schools and universities</li><li>Programme began in 2009, first initiated by Raffles Institution (Junior College) volunteers</li><li>Weekly tuition sessions held during school term; multi-semester commitment encouraged</li><li>Volunteers also role-model positive values and life skills such as time management and exam preparation</li><li>Rolling intake — recruitment is run through Heartware Network's Youthbank platform</li></ul><p>Prospective volunteers register via Youthbank at youthbank.sg or through the Heartware Network website.</p>
