<p>The Heartware Tuition Programme is a volunteer-run weekly tuition initiative by Heartware Network, first started in 2009 by student volunteers from Raffles Institution (Junior College) and supported by the Ministry of Education. Volunteers deliver free academic support to disadvantaged primary school children, including those from low-income families and children whose parents are incarcerated.</p><ul><li>Eligibility: open to students aged 17 and above; tertiary, JC and older secondary volunteers are welcome</li><li>Subjects: academic support in the child's weaker subjects, typically Mathematics, Science and English</li><li>Commitment: once-a-week tuition sessions, approximately 2 hours per session (afternoon/evening), during school terms</li><li>Location: partner community centres and schools across Singapore</li><li>Outcomes include community service hours and a volunteer reference letter from Heartware Network</li></ul><p>Interested volunteers sign up through the volunteer form on the Heartware Tuition Programme page.</p>
