About this opportunity

<p>The Asian Pacific Mathematics Olympiad (APMO) is an annual proof-based mathematics competition for countries in the Pacific-Rim region, running since 1989. Singapore students sit the paper locally under SIMO coordination, and strong performances form part of the selection pathway for the national IMO team.</p><ul><li>Single 4-hour paper with 5 proof-based questions, each scored out of 7.</li><li>Eligibility: under 20 on 1 July of the contest year; not yet enrolled at a university.</li><li>2026 edition: morning of Tuesday, 10 March 2026 for Asia and Western Pacific countries.</li><li>Awards: Gold, Silver, or Bronze certificates, plus Honourable Mention for strong non-award performances.</li><li>Up to 10 students per country may be submitted as official participants.</li><li>Singapore selection is by SIMO invitation, typically extended to top SMO Open performers.</li></ul>
