About this opportunity
Two annual prizes from The Adroit Journal for secondary and undergraduate writers: one for poetry (up to five poems per submission) and one for prose (up to three pieces of fiction or creative nonfiction, 3,500 words combined). Each winner receives USD 200 and is published in The Adroit Journal alongside the runners-up, and every submission is also considered for publication in the journal.

All secondary and undergraduate students, including international students.
How to apply
Submit through Submittable during the spring submission window, paying the USD 15 fee or using the financial assistance form. Runs every year: the 2026 window ran from 1 April to 12 May (after an extension), and 2027 dates are not yet announced.
