About this opportunity
Students are placed in international teams on the Academy's platform and work 10-week Innovation Challenges set by industry sponsors - researching a real problem such as green retrofitting or brain-computer interfaces, testing a hypothesis and pitching a solution to expert judges - with a working STEM professional mentoring the team throughout.
Who can apply
Ages 13-17: you must be 13 by 1 September of the intake year and must not turn 18 by 1 May of the following year, and be enrolled in high school or equivalent. Open to students in over 100 countries including Singapore; strong English needed. The age cap means 18 and 19 year olds are not eligible.
How to apply
Apply online at gsa.smapply.io during one of the Academy's two recruitment periods; applications must be in English, with a signed parent or guardian consent form. Applications open twice a year, usually March to July for the fall semester and November to January for the spring semester; the Fall 2026 round closed on 9 July 2026 and no spring 2027 dates are posted yet.
