About this opportunity
A yearly open-source mentorship run by the KDE community. Participants spend about two months on a code or non-code project, such as app features, documentation or developer tools, with guidance from KDE contributors. It is free and open to everyone; those who complete it receive a certificate and KDE merchandise. It has run every year since 2013.
Who can apply
Open to everyone. Selection favours applicants who contact the project team early to discuss their proposal.
How to apply
Choose a project from the ideas page, discuss it with mentors, then submit a proposal. The 2026 season opened on 15 December 2025 with applications due 14 January 2026; 2027 dates are not yet announced.
