About this opportunity

<p>kidsREAD is a nationwide reading programme run by the National Library Board (NLB) together with four self-help groups — CDAC, The Eurasian Association, SINDA and Yayasan MENDAKI — to cultivate the love of reading among children aged 4 to 8 from lower-income families. Launched in 2004, the programme has reached more than 80,000 children across 18+ clubs based in community centres, preschools and primary schools.</p> <ul> <li>Volunteers facilitate read-aloud sessions at kidsREAD clubs across Singapore.</li> <li>Participating children must be aged 4 to 8, Singaporean or PR, with household income not exceeding $7,500 (or per-capita $1,875).</li> <li>NLB provides volunteer training before deployment at a club.</li> <li>Clubs are hosted at community centres, preschools, primary schools, and social-service agency touchpoints.</li> </ul> <p>For volunteer criteria and sign-up details, see NLB's "Volunteer Criteria and Opportunities" page, or email kidsread@nlb.gov.sg.</p>

The form currently lists no weekly kidsREAD club openings but lets you join the volunteer waitlist; kidsREAD@Home home-visit openings are for volunteers aged 18 and above.
