About this opportunity

<p>An international essay competition in economics run by Minds Underground in partnership with Aseeder, aimed at Year 12 students (with younger applicants also welcome). Participants choose one question from a set covering four subfields — mathematical, behavioural, international, and environmental economics — and submit a single essay response.</p><ul><li>Open to students worldwide; especially suited to Year 12 or gap-year applicants, though younger students may enter</li><li>Participants select and respond to one of twelve questions (three per subfield across four subfields)</li><li>Submissions are made online via the competition's entry form</li><li>Entrants may demonstrate critical analysis drawing on theory, data, and policy perspectives</li><li>Optional paid mentoring is available through Minds Underground tutors</li></ul><p>The 2026 submission deadline is 3 April 2026.
